Dressings and removal of stitches, ear syringing, minor injuries

Care of the elderly, health promotion, lipid, INR, asthma and
diabetic
clinics

Taking cervical smears

Triage and nurse practitioner duties

Minor illness (sore throats, coughs, colds)

Perform
Spirometry
(tests of lung function) and 24hour blood pressure monitoring by
attaching a machine that patients take home (similar in size to a
"Walkman" personal cassette player)

The Health Care Assistants are responsible for the following duties:
- Taking blood pressure
- Height and weight measurements
- Phlebotomy (taking blood samples)
- ECGs
- New patient checks
